Take children around the world on Field Day by making items from different cultures part of the day’s plans. Have children wear sombreros as they hop along in the sack race. Name that activity the Mexican Jumping Bean Race. Plan a China-themed relay race where children hand off fortunecookies or chopsticks instead of batons. Present winners with 1st, 2nd And 3rd Place Class Ribbons . Give all other children Field Day Participant Award Ribbons with a space to write on the participant’s name.
